CAC GHB 32 : ERE I SLEEP FOR EVERY FAVOUR

32-Ere I sleep for every favour Ere I sleep for every favour This day show’d By my God, I will bless my Saviour O my Lord, what shall I render To Thy name, Still the same, Merciful and tender? Thou hast order’d all my goings In Thy way, Heard me pray, Sanctified my doings. Leave me not, but ever love me; Let Thy peace Be my bliss, Till Thou hence remove me. Thou my rock, my guard, my tower, Safely keep, While I sleep, Me, with all Thy power. So, whene’er in death I slumber, Let me rise With the wise, Counted in their number.

I will set him on high because he hath known my name Ps 91:14 34-Day is dying in the West Verse 1 Day is dying in the west Heav'n is touching earth with rest; Wait and worship while the night Sets her evening lamps alight, Thro' all the sky. Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts Heav'n and earth are full of Thee; Heav'n and earth are praising Thee, O Lord, Most High. Verse 2 Lord of life, beneath the dome, Of the universe Thy home; Gather us, who seek Thy face, To the fold of Thy embrace For Thou art nigh. Verse 3 While the deepening shadows fall Heart of love enfolding all, Thro' the glory and the grace Of the stars that veil Thy face; Our hearts ascend. Verse 4 When forever from our sight, Pass the stars the day; The night Lord of angels, On our eyes let eternal morning rise, And shadows end.

CAC GHB 40 : COME YE THAT LOVE THE LORD

Hymn 40: Come, ye that love the Lord, And let your joys be known; Join in a song with sweet accord, While ye surround his throne: Let those refuse to sing Who never knew our God; But servants of the heav’nly King May speak their joys abroad. The God that rules on high, That all the earth surveys, That rides upon the stormy sky, And calms the roaring seas- This awful God is ours, Our Father and our love; He will send down his heavenly powers, To carry us above. 3There we shall see his face, And never, never sin; There, from the rivers of his grace, Drink endless pleasures in: Yea, and before we rise To that immortal state, The thoughts of such amazing bliss Should constant joys create. The men of grace have found Glory begun below; Celestial fruit on earthly ground From faith and hope may grow: Then let our songs abound, And every tear be dry; We are marching through Immanuel's grounds To fairer worlds on high.

CAC GHB 39 : COME YE THAT LOVE THE LORD

Hymn 39: Come, ye that love the Lord, And let your joys be known Join in a song with sweet accord, Join in a song with sweet accord, And thus surround the throne And thus surround the throne. We’re marching to Zion, Beautiful, beautiful Zion; We’re marching upward to Zion The beautiful city of God. Let those refuse to sing Who never knew our God: But children of the heavenly King, But children of the heavenly King, Must speak their joys abroad, Must speak their joys abroad, The hill of Zion yields A thousand sacred sweets Before we reach the heav’nly fields, Before we reach the heav’nly fields. Or walk the golden streets, Or walk the golden streets. Then let our songs abound, And every tear be dry, We’re marching through Immanuel’s ground To fairer worlds on high To fairer worlds on high.

CAC GHB 42 : COME LET US JOIN OUR CHEERFUL SONGS

No more fatigue no more distress, Nor sin nor hell, shall reach the place; No sighs shall mingle with the songs Which warble from immortal tongues. No rude alarms of raging foes, No cares to break the long repose No midnight shade, no clouded sun; But sacred, high, eternal noon. O long-expected day, begin! Dawn on these realms of woe and sin; Fain would we leave this weary road, And sleep in death, to rest with God.

CAC GHB 74 : FOR MERCIES COUNTLESS AS THE SANDS

74—For mercies countless as the sands For mercies, countless as the sands, Which I daily receive From Jesus, my Redeemer’s hands, My soul, what canst thou give? Alas, from such a heart as mine, What can I bring Him forth? My best is stain’d and dyed with sin My all is nothing worth. Yet this acknowledgement I’ll make For all He has bestow’d Salvation’s sacred cup I’ll take, I’ll call upon my God. The best return for one like me, So wretched and so poor, Is from His gifts to draw a plea, And ask Him still for more. I cannot serve Him as I ought No works have I to boast; Yet would I glory in the thought That I shall owe Him most.
