EFCC Arrests Yahoo Boy In Abuja While Withdrawing £30,000 (Photo)

A Fraudster identified as Fidelis Iruedo has been arrested by the EFCC for allegedly defrauding a United Kingdom citizen of £30,000 in a romance and Love scam. The 31yr old was arrested, after one Alan Digweed made a petition to the Commission by the Nigerian High Commission, London, alleging that the suspect had defrauded his victim of the said amount of money. Investigations by the EFCC revealed that Iruedo, who voluntarily confessed to the crime, met his victim between July and December 2017, via a date site, match.com. The suspect, while parading as a lady, procured British passport using the name ‘Tracy Anderson’ with which he used to defraud the victim. He was arrested in Abuja, during an attempt to make withdrawal in a bank. On arrest, items recovered from him include: several scam letters, 3 flash drives, 1 iphone and a computer. The suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are concluded

EFCC Arrests 13 Yahoo Boys, Recovers Laptops, SUV, Toyota Highlander, Corolla

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos zonal office, has arrested 13 suspected Internet fraudsters, better known as `yahoo boys’,  for conspiracy, possession of fraudulent documents and obtaining money under false pretence. The suspects are- Badejo Tobi; Abiola Dimeji; Anthony Godwin; Osoba Adeboye; Adelekan Abiodun and Awokoya Oriyomi Yusuf. Others are:Oyatayo Ismail; Coffie Meschark; Sylvester Amaddin; Olawale Farouk; Adeniran Tolani; Taiwo Michael and OyekanmiAyodeji. They were arrested on Saturday, December 16, 2017 in some parts of Lagos and Ogun States, following intelligence report received by the Commission about their activities. The suspects allegedly confessed to be involved in phishing, love scam, forgery, spoofing and business email compromise, among other offences.
