The latest problem affecting the Google Pixel 2 XL is one that Google is already looking into. Complaints have been posted on the Pixel User Community of the Google Product Forum. According to these posts, voice clips sent through a messaging app by a Pixel 2 XL carrying this bug, are arriving on a recipient's phone with very low volume. This is occurring with messages sent through WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, Google Allo, Telegram and other platforms. The low volume occurs regardless whether the recipient is wearing earphones or using the receiving phone's speakers. Affected Pixel 2 XL units are running both Android 8.0 and Android 8.1. LG's next flagship won't be called the G7, rebranding options considered

Image
LG is thinking of a new name for its upcoming flagship. A new report from South Korea suggests that the tech giant will be rebranding its signature G series in order to better compete with its major rivals - Apple and Samsung.  In a statement to  The Investor , one LG official has said that rebranding flagship models is nothing new in the industry, and added that the moniker of the upcoming flagship is yet to be decided. Another company official shared some information on what options are currently being considered:  LG is preparing a new brand strategy for the G series in the first half of the year. Numbering the phone with a two-digit number and rebranding the phone with a new name are some of the options on the table. The G series first became a thing in 2012, when LG announced the Optimus G in September of that year. In the following years, the firm removed the Autobot-esque "Optimus" part and has stuck with the G name ever since.  LG is expected to

LG Display might not have produced a single OLED panel for Apple in 2017, but it looks like things are about to change this year. A new report from South Korea suggests that Apple is planning to diversify its OLED suppliers for the next iPhones. Sources of  The Investor  state that LG Display is close to inking an OLED supply deal with Cupertino and is expected to start panel shipments in the second half of 2018. This information is unofficial, but the display maker did previously confirm that it was in talks with Tim Cook & Co. over a possible agreement. According to the latest information, LG Display will only produce about 15-16 million panels in 2018. If this turns out to be accurate, it would mean that Samsung Display would still produce the majority of OLED panels for the upcoming iPhones, as Apple typically sells more than 200 million handsets per year. 5.8/6-INCH AND 6.5-INCH OLED IPHONES INCOMING? Verizon plans to launch a sequel to LG's entry-level Optimus-branded smartphones: Optimus Zone 2 and Optimus Zone 3. However, according to Evan Blass , the new handset will drop the “Optimus” moniker in favor of a shorter naming scheme – LG Zone 4. We've learned about the LG Zone 4 two weeks ago, and the fact that it should be launched at Verizon very soon. Customers waiting for a budget-friendly Android smartphone will be happy to know that LG Zone 4 is very close to its debut. The smartphone has been recently spotted at FCC (Federal Communications Commission), which puts it one step closer to reveal. Sadly, no details about its specs are listed at the regulatory agency, but at least we know it will indeed come to Verizon since it features support for LTE bands 2, 4, 5 and 13. LG G6 scheduled to receive Android 8.0 Oreo by February, but there's a catch

Image
LG G6  is one of the many flagships that has yet to be updated to the most recent version of Android. Although the South Korean company promised to deliver Android Oreo to the LG G6 as fast as possible, it looks like the update won't make it live until next year. As some of you probably know by now, LG has already kicked off an  Android Oreo beta program for the G6 , but it's only available in China. Now we have more information that indicates the Asian version of the LG G6 might be the first to receive the update. According to LG Customer Service, an Android Ore update for the  LG G6  will be released by February, which could mean that those who own the smartphone might get it as early as next month. However, as mentioned earlier, LG's customer service refers to the H870S model, which is specifically built for the Middle East region. It remains to be seen how long it will take LG to make the update available to other G6 models. LG G6 VIEW MORE + 12 imag
