CES 2018: A schedule of events

The 2018 edition of CES, one of the bigger trade shows that are largely concerning the mobile industry, is about to kick off in a couple of days' time in Las Vegas, Nevada. Just as any other year, it's expected to become the center-stage where a host of innovative new consumer-grade products get announced, and that includes a host of smartphones as well. We've already told you what new device you should expect at CES 2018, including but not limited to devices from Sony, which is expected to announce a new flagship, while many other manufacturers are expected to reveal their handsets, too. To make it easier for us all to see what's happening when. Alleged Huawei P20, P20 Plus, and P20 Pro designs leak out, triple cameras everywhere

In the last three years,  Huawei  released P8, P9, and P10 series of smartphones, so we're now expecting the company to introduce a P11 family. However, this might not happen. According to a few leaked images originating from  China , Huawei's next generation P-series handsetsshould be called P20. Said images show schematics that allegedly reveal the overall design of three new Huawei P20 smartphones - a regular P20, a P20 Plus, and a P20 Pro. Apparently, all three handsets will offer triple rear cameras (though positioned differently). According to a previous report, Huawei's upcoming triple rear camera will have a resolution of 40 Megapixels, and "5x hybrid zoom" - in theory, this should be a great camera, but it remains to be seen if it can outclass other high-end smartphone cameras.   It looks like the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus will have pretty similar designs, with fingerprint scanners on the front, and triple cameras positioned asymmetrically on th

Huawei Sells More Smartphones Than Apple Globally, Takes The Second Spot

Huawei P10   Apple consistently ranks as the second largest smartphone manufacturer based on sales. It's something that we've become accustomed to. No other vendor, except Samsung, has managed to beat it. Well, until now, that is. According to a new report from Counterpoint, Apple was overtaken by Huawei, which posted a very strong performance towards the second half of the year. "This is a significant milestone for Huawei, the largest Chinese smartphone brand with a growing global presence. It speaks volumes for this primarily network infrastructure vendor on how far it has grown in the consumer mobile handset space in the last three to four years.
