Nokia 6 2nd Generation announced with better CPU, OZO Audio and Bothie mode

Image
As expected, HMD Global has just taken the wraps off another Android smartphone, a small  Nokia 6  upgrade. Dubbed  Nokia 6 2nd Generation , the handset will be exclusively available for purchase in China for $230.  Unlike the previous  Nokia 6 model  that packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, the 2nd Generation comes with an upgraded 2.2GHz octa-core  Qualcomm Snapdragon 630  CPU. The new Nokia 6 2nd Gen comes in two variations: 32GB and 64GB. Both versions include 4GB RAM though. The former costs $230, whereas the latter will sell for around $245 outright. Both can already be reserved in China, but they will only hit the shelves on January 10. Another difference between the two Nokia 6 smartphones is the new model features  OZO Audio recording , an advanced spatial audio technology with 3D capture and playback capabilities. It offers high fidelity 360-degree sound captured with the smartphone. There are no changes when it comes to photography features

Nokia 7 won't remain China-exclusive for too long, other countries will get it soon

Image
HMD Global introduced the Nokia 7 as a China-exclusive  back in October , but it looks like the smartphone will be making outside this country very soon. Unofficially, the smartphone is already available for purchase at some European retailers, but a few lucky countries will get it through official channels. Word is HMD plans to launch the  Nokia 7  in India later this month. Apparently, the smartphone will be available exclusively through Amazon India for a price that hasn't been disclosed yet.  But that's not all, as Nokia 7 is expected to arrive in Europe in the coming weeks. Other regions are likely to get it by February as well, but we're not convinced the smartphone will make it to the Americas. On a side note, you can already buy the Nokia 7 in Romania for around €325, but the smartphone won't be available until January 17. On the bright side, delivery is free and you get a 24-month warranty.

Nokia 6 (2018) leaks in real-life pics just before its rumored debut tomorrow

New-fangled t:Nokia fans already know that the company is prepping itself to reveal a refreshed version of its Nokia 6 soon, uninterestingly dubbed the  Nokia 6 (2018) , which will be boosting things up with a a speedier series-600 chip, more RAM, and up to t:64GB of native storage. The rest of the specs so far seem to be the same as the ones of last year's regular  Nokia 6 .  Supposedly, the slightly-revamped Nokia 6 could see the light of day as early as tomorrow, January 5, though that's merely a speculation just yet. Just like that, however, a bunch of seemingly official device renders have popped up in the blogosphere, giving us a sneak peek at what we expect the refreshed Nokia 6 to look like. As you can see for yourselves, there's nothing outrageously-innovative going on in terms of design - for most intents and purposes, the new phone looks just like its predecessor, except for the rose gold outline around the camera module and the frame, which is an int

Research firm Counterpoint Research pulled out its trusty slide rule and computed that during the third quarter of 2017, which covered July through September, Nokia licensee HMD Global sold 2.8 million Nokia smartphones worldwide. During the same time frame, the company sold 13.5 million Nokia feature phones. For the quarter, Nokia placed 16th among t:smartphone manufacturers and third among those producing feature phones. Combined, Nokia was the eighth largest handset producer worldwide for Q3. The 2.8 million smartphones that Nokia sold globally during the third quarter easily topped the 1.5 million intelligent handsets rung up by Nokia for the first half of 2017. Recent reports show that Nokia continued to do well in the fourth quarter of 2017, which ended at the end of last month. t:Nokia's feature phone division had strong results last year thanks to the re-release of the iconic  Nokia 3310 . The phone originally appeared in 2000 and 17 years later, an updated model with 3G
