How Opera Hub payment is calculated (New Payment Structure)

In order to better encourage high-quality creators, the platform will continuously adjust and optimize the article traffic into calculation methods. Starting in April, the main factors of payment strategy were "content clicks", "content quality", "article creation", and "reading time".

"Content quality", "Reading time" will be the most important considerations in the calculation. It means if your article has high quality and long staying time, it would receive a higher traffic fee.

For high-quality and original content, the platform would pay more to encourage authors to create high-quality original content.

Clicks with reading time of 5 seconds or less will not be counted, as it is an indication of the user's dissatisfaction. Articles with longer reading time will be paid more.

Once an article reaches a high impression, there will be an extensive 2nd review. If an article is deemed plagiarism, the payment on this article will be reduced significantly.
For accounts with significant rejections, the payment will be reduced. The degree of reduction depends on the degree of rejections.

For accounts which were banned because of policy violation, all outstanding payments will be forfeited.
The average payment per click is floating and depends on the average ads revenue per click for the platform. Keep in mind that covid-19 has a significant impact on advertising spending across the world.
In June, the platform will cancel the fixed fee, and subsidize more revenue to high-quality original content to ensure that the revenue of all creators is positively related to the content performance of the article.

Under what circumstances will the article earnings be cancelled?
Articles that are plagiarises or fake news will be deleted. Even if the article passes the review, once an article is found to be plagiarized or fake news, the platform will immediately delete and cancel all revenue of such article.

What is the criteria for the new payment structure?
Payment is largely dependent on the quality of your articles, number of articles you post, clicks, user reading time, and ads revenue of Opera.

Authors mostly calculate their expected payment using only clicks, but when the platform calculates, it also calculates Quality, user reading time, and ads revenue of Opera.

When will Opera pay me?
Payment for stories published in Month A is paid for on/before the 30th of Month B. What this means is, articles published in the month of May will be paid for on or before the 30th of June. Articles published in June will be paid for on or before the 30th of July.

Does Opera pay for video content?
No we don’t. This may be considered in the future but at the moment Opera does not pay for video content.

How can I edit my Opay number?

Do i really have to fill the monthly OPay payment issue form?
You do not need to fill the monthly payment issue form if you do not have any payment related issue or complain.

I have filled the payment issue form and still got no reply.
Everyone who fills/filled the payment complaint form will be responded to within 7-working days of their complaints. Most have already been responded to either by phone calls or emails.

How to judge the content as high-quality original content？
When the core content of the article is consistent with the title; Ensure effective information of the article, the overall logic is smooth, you can see the creator's expertise, depth, thinking and processing of the information from the writing, articles need to have these qualities to be considered high quality ; Article length can support content richness;

The picture matches the content, the copyright picture needs to be reprinted after obtaining the copyright; We encourage high-quality originals instead of just writing meaningless content.
