Google Chrome To Block Annoying Ads From February 15


Google said that it will roll out a native adblocker by 2018 that will help block annoying ads. According to the search engine giant, the adblocker will be rolled out to all compatible operating systems starting February 15th, 2018, in line with the Coalition for Better Ads guidelines.

It said this browser, Chrome will be remove all ads from sites that have a “failing” status in the Ad Experience Report for more than 30 days. It however, noted that site owners can submit their site for re-review once the violations have been fixed.

Ads to be affected includes, pop-up ads, prestitial ads, ads with a density greater than 30%, flashing animated ads, auto-play video ads with sound, poststitial ads with a countdown, full-screen scrollover ads, and large sticky ads. The service will start rolling out to Desktop and mobile device in Europe and North America.
