INTRODUCTION
Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie more popularly known as Patoranking, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter. Born 27 May 1990, Patoranking is from Ebonyi State, South-Eastern Nigeria. He comes from a family of three with younger brother Raphael and younger sister Sharon Okorie.
EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Patoranking grew up in Ijegun Egba Satellite Town, Lagos and later relocated to Ebute Metta a Commercial Ghetto neighbourhood in Lagos. He attended Citizen Comprehensive College Epe, and Jibril Martin Memorial Grammar School in Iponri both in Lagos State.

In 2011 he left the family to pursue a better life, this was for him a very painful decision and in a 2016 interview he says he had to leave because "I wanted to change the face of my family…I cud’nt give dem the much deserved elder brother Attention, I had to dis cos I wanna be able to provide their needs and answer their questions in the future…Thank God for Today and thank God for his blessings upon my Life and my family"
He says that he once sold rat poison in Lagos traffic as a street hawker before becoming a bricklayer, all as a youth. As an adult he traveled to Ghana, found music, and the rest is history.
MUSIC BEGINS
Patoranking started as a street jam and carnival dancer. In a 2012 interview with Entertainment Express, he said his stage name was given to him by a Jamaican artist who he met at Alpha Beach in Lagos.
He started his musical career through underground collaborations with artists such as XProject, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone. He signed a record deal with K-Solo's Igberaga Records in 2010, releasing "Up in D Club".
Emerging onto the Nigerian music scene with the release of Alubarika, a hit single featuring Timaya, he still credits Timaya with aiding his rise even in the midst of rumors of a rift ater he signed to Foston Musik.
In February 2014, after signing unto Foston Musik he released “Girlie O”, it is this single that put him on the Map of Nigerian Music beyond the initial push of his affiliation with Timaya's Dem Mama Records.
On 9 February 2015, Patoranking announced that he signed a distribution deal with VP Records. His musical heights have continued to grow with hit after hit both in collaborations and stand alone records.
HIS MUSIC
Patoranking has cited Buju Banton, Bob Marley, Fela Kuti, Lucky Dube, Chaka Demus, Majek Fashek, Blackky, Blackface, Tuface and Marvelous Benjy as his key musical influences. In the aforementioned interview with Entertainment Express, he said he references socio-political issues in his music. He has described his music as a morally inclined variation of dancehall.
On 12 September 2013, Patoranking released the video and audio for "Alubarika" simultaneously. The song literally translates to "God's Blessings" and features vocals Timaya. According to an article in The Nation, Patoranking described the song as a summary of his life as a musician. He also said that the song opened doors for him in terms of building a fan base and working with established musicians.
Foston Musik released "Girlie O Remix" on 19 May 2014 to critical acclaim. The song features vocals from Tiwa Savage. It debuted at number 9 on MTV Base's Official Naija Top 10 chart setting him on a much larger stage. In an interview collaborator Tiwa Savage says that she admires Patoranking's music and decided to reach out to him to do the remix.
His top collaborations include, "Murda" with Seyi Shay, "Alubarika" with Timaya and "My Woman" with Wande Coal.
He is a hit maker and his popular single are growing.

TODAY
In January 2016, Patoranking was announced as one of the judges for the maiden edition of the singing competition The Voice Nigeria.[22] Patoranking released his debut studio album, God Over Everything, on 1 August 2016. The album features guest appearances from Phyno, Wizkid, Sarkodie, Olamide, Elephant Man, and Kwam 1. It debuted at number 4 on Billboard's Reggae Albums chart.
BUSINESS/INCOME
In February 2014, Patoranking signed a record deal with Foston Musik and ended his affiliations with Dem Mama Records where he was never officially signed but willingly collaborated.
He has endorsement deals with Airtel a major Nigerian telecommunications firm and Manlivelihood.
PERSONAL LIFE
Patoranking seems to enjoy time with his family, on the left he is pictured with his mother.
He is also often seen in the company of his little brother Rapharanking.
