Which phone has the best and Strongest battery life in 2017

Image
Which  phones  had the best battery life in 2017? And does battery life on phones ever improve or does it stay roughly the same throughout the years? At PhoneArena, we do a standardized proprietary battery test on all phones that we review. We test every device diligently: we make sure that its screen is set at the same brightness level and to ensure this we measure brightness level down to the nit with a special colorimeter, we also turn off external notifications and other sources of power drain that might skew the results of our test. For some phones, we double-test if we have doubts about the results. This gives us a comprehensive picture of battery life numbers for all major flagships not just in 2017, but also through the wider lens of time. As 2017 winds down to a close, we take a look at all the major flagship phones of the year and their battery life performance, and we compare the results to the average battery life of flagships in 2016 and 2015 to see

HQ Trivia game for Android goes live in the Google Play Store, play to win real money

Image
Popular mobile game HQ Trivia has finally made its debut on the Android platform  after a short beta testing period . Although the game shows as “unreleased” in the Google Play Store, it appears that everyone can download and play it. HQ Trivia has quickly become a phenomenon after being released on the iOS since it's one of the few mobile games that allows players to win real money. If you make it to the end of the game and you collect at least $20, you can actually transfer the money to your Paypal account. But how exactly does  HQ Trivia  work? Well, it's pretty simple. Every day at 9 pm EST and weekdays at 3 pm EST, there are multiple trivia games hosted by a human player. Participants receive a push notification on their phones letting them know to launch the app. Once a question is asked, players have 10 seconds to choose the correct answer. If they get it right, they advance to an even harder question. Rinse and repeat until you make it to the end of the ga

Most underrated phones of 2017

Image
What a year it's been for the smartphone market! Looking back at what transpired, we saw no shortage of top-notch offerings that constantly kept coming at us in a steady flow. On top of that, 2017 will go down in smartphone history as the year of adopting trends, as we saw several devices choosing to go with the all-screen form factor, dual-camera system, and minimal bezels. Through all the solid smartphones that enamored us, we can't neglect to remember some of the other ones that flew under the radar – due to being overshadowed largely by these stellar flagships!  We're talking about the mid-rangers, the second-tiered offerings, budget ones that sacrifice specs to gain a more attractive price point, and just some of the forgotten ones, these are the underrated phones that so happened to do very well in their class, but they didn't receive the same level of continued attention to give them the long-lasting visibility that consumers require for consideration. So you want to create Marvel-esque comic strips, but there is just one small problem; you can't draw. In today's world, that's no problem at all thanks to the upcoming  Marvel Create Your Own  app . Developed by Marvel in conjunction with TapTap comics, the  app  allows you to create a comic book adventure, edit it to make it your own, and share it with friends, family and Marvel fans. Using the  app , you select from a group of Marvel characters. Once you pick one, you select the " camera " angle, change the pose and pick the background. You can set the layout for your comic and create the dialogue. But you need to be careful about what you have your characters say. Telegram receives major update that adds multiple accounts support, themes, quick replies

Image
Telegram is one of the not so many messenger apps that are getting  major new features on a regular basis . The last update of the year brings Telegram users themes, support for multiple accounts, as well as quick replies. For iOS users, the developers have added a new Appearance setting, which allows them to choose between four different themes. Some of these themes even allow users to further customize the look of the app by picking an accent color. Now, for Android users,  Telegram  has brought support for multiple accounts. Starting with version 4.7, Telegram users will be able to add up to three accounts with different phone numbers to their app and switch between them from within the menu. It's worth mentioning that you will receive notifications for all three accounts even if you logged on a single one. However, you can change notification behavior from the settings menu. Last but not least, the quick replies feature is now available for both Android and iOS users. In order

Alleged Huawei P20, P20 Plus, and P20 Pro designs leak out, triple cameras everywhere

Image
In the last three years,  Huawei  released P8, P9, and P10 series of smartphones, so we're now expecting the company to introduce a P11 family. However, this might not happen. According to a few leaked images originating from  China , Huawei's next generation P-series handsetsshould be called P20. Said images show schematics that allegedly reveal the overall design of three new Huawei P20 smartphones - a regular P20, a P20 Plus, and a P20 Pro. Apparently, all three handsets will offer triple rear cameras (though positioned differently). According to a previous report, Huawei's upcoming triple rear camera will have a resolution of 40 Megapixels, and "5x hybrid zoom" - in theory, this should be a great camera, but it remains to be seen if it can outclass other high-end smartphone cameras.   It looks like the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus will have pretty similar designs, with fingerprint scanners on the front, and triple cameras positioned asymmetrically on th

Apple starts offering its $29 battery replacements today, two days earlier than expected

Image
A couple days ago, Apple apologized for throttling the CPU of certain iPhone models.  Apple  says that it did this so that the handsets' lack of prime battery power wouldn't shut them down when handling certain tasks. Along with the apology came a deal from the company. Since weak batteries are at the heart of the issue, Apple is allowing you to replace the cells on the iPhone6 and up for $29. That is a $50 discount from the usual price of $79. The deal was expected to start on January 1st 2018 and runs through the end of next year. An Apple spokesman said that it expected to need more time to set up the sale, but added that the company is ready to start offering $29 battery replacements starting today. He did caution that batteries for some models might be in limited supply at the moment. While Apple rivals like Samsung, Motorola, LG and HTC have taken this opportunity to distance themselves from Apple's actions, it remains to be seen exactly what kind of consumer ba
