HQ Trivia game for Android goes live in the Google Play Store, play to win real money

Image
Popular mobile game HQ Trivia has finally made its debut on the Android platform  after a short beta testing period . Although the game shows as “unreleased” in the Google Play Store, it appears that everyone can download and play it. HQ Trivia has quickly become a phenomenon after being released on the iOS since it's one of the few mobile games that allows players to win real money. If you make it to the end of the game and you collect at least $20, you can actually transfer the money to your Paypal account. But how exactly does  HQ Trivia  work? Well, it's pretty simple. Every day at 9 pm EST and weekdays at 3 pm EST, there are multiple trivia games hosted by a human player. Participants receive a push notification on their phones letting them know to launch the app. Once a question is asked, players have 10 seconds to choose the correct answer. If they get it right, they advance to an even harder question. Rinse and repeat until you make it to the end of the ga

Chinese app finds you a surrogate drinker if you're a lightweight

Image
In China, the amount of alcohol you consume is in relation to the amount of respect you have for your host. But what if you want to remain sober, or you are a lightweight when it comes to alcohol? In China, an  app  called eDaihe (which translates to "to drink on behalf of") can find you a surrogate drinker who will consume enough booze to let your host feel very respected.  The surrogate drinking service is offered in 36 cities in China including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. Pricing is determined through private negotiations between the  app  user and the surrogate drinker. Over 100,000 people subscribed to the  app  during the first 24 hours that it was available. Potential surrogates put up a profile that includes their name, gender, location, and the amount of alcohol that they can handle.   Because of U.S. laws and worries about liability, we most likely won't see this  app  made available in the states. In fact, it is China's unique culture t

Most underrated phones of 2017

Image
What a year it's been for the smartphone market! Looking back at what transpired, we saw no shortage of top-notch offerings that constantly kept coming at us in a steady flow. On top of that, 2017 will go down in smartphone history as the year of adopting trends, as we saw several devices choosing to go with the all-screen form factor, dual-camera system, and minimal bezels. Through all the solid smartphones that enamored us, we can't neglect to remember some of the other ones that flew under the radar – due to being overshadowed largely by these stellar flagships!  We're talking about the mid-rangers, the second-tiered offerings, budget ones that sacrifice specs to gain a more attractive price point, and just some of the forgotten ones, these are the underrated phones that so happened to do very well in their class, but they didn't receive the same level of continued attention to give them the long-lasting visibility that consumers require for consideration. Would you like Apple to launch a gold iPhone X? (poll results)

Image
Apple  is currently selling the iPhone X in just two color variants (silver and space gray), but there have been plenty of rumors about a gold version of the handset. Before Apple got to announce the iPhone X, well-connected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo mentioned that, due to unspecified production problems, the company might release a gold variant of the phone sometime  after  the silver and space grey models. Since then, we haven't seen any new info about this, so there's no way of telling if a gold  iPhone  X will ever be available to buy. But we were curious to know what you, our readers, thought about the possibility of Apple releasing a gold iPhone X, so we published this poll. As you can see below, almost half of the poll respondents (47.11%) said that they would like Apple to launch a gold iPhone X. Slightly more than half (52.89%) didn't see this as a good idea. Of course, we can't really know if all those who voted are actually interested in getti

Telegram is one of the not so many messenger apps that are getting  major new features on a regular basis . The last update of the year brings Telegram users themes, support for multiple accounts, as well as quick replies. For iOS users, the developers have added a new Appearance setting, which allows them to choose between four different themes.
